In Celebration of the Feast

// Jun. 26 '09 | General

Under the festive and jolly atmosphere, we commemorate a man's great vision, passion and work, a work that he claims is not his, but is actually the "Work of God".

Today, June 26, 2009, we celebrate the feast of St. Josemaria Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei. This humble priest who docily submitted himself to our Lord in order to serve Him the best he could.

In commemoration of St. Josemaria Escriva's feast, a solemn Eucharistic celebration was held at the Manila Cathedral. In attendance were the Archbishop of Manila, Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, together with the Vicar-General of Opus Dei, Father Joseph Duran, and other priests of Opus Dei, who concelebrated with the solemn Eucharistic celebration for the feast of St. Josemaria Escriva.

This event is always special not only because of the festive atmosphere that envelopes it, but also because of the attendance of the men and women, who St. Josemaria has positively influenced through his teachings and works of Opus Dei.
